Partnership Stake is a reading site. Nothing on it asks you to register or comment, so this notice is short. This notice deals with people who visit the site and people who write to the desk by e-mail.
Who decides what happens to your data
The controller is Partnership Stake. Questions on data should be sent to the desk.
What we hold
Server logs. Whenever a page is requested, the web server notes the IP address, time, page, referring page, browser details and response code. We use this for keeping the site up, keeping it safe and tracing faults. The logs are kept for 30 days. We do not build profiles of readers.
E-mail. If you write to the desk, we hold the message, the sender’s address and a name if one is offered, so that we can reply and, where it matters, check or correct a report. You do not have to write to us, but without an address we cannot answer. Messages are kept for 12 months from the last message, or longer if a legal claim needs them.
Backups. Copies of the site’s database and files are taken and kept for 30 days. Anything in the database when a copy is made remains in that copy until the copy expires.
We take no decision about you by automated means.
Why, and on what basis
The site is addressed to readers of its language in any country. Where the UK GDPR or the EU GDPR applies, we expect the basis to be our legitimate interest in operating a safe site and replying to correspondents. Where you are in the United States or Canada, your rights apply to the extent the applicable law gives you them.
Who else handles it
By category: hosting in the EU, a transactional email service, encrypted archives on external storage for backups, and a DNS proxy and CDN placed in front of the site. Web Analytics on that proxy is off, and the proxy processes IP addresses only to deliver the page and protect against attacks. They act on our instructions.
Our pages are delivered through a content delivery network that operates worldwide, while the server is in the EU.
Cookies and browser storage
The site is built without advertising or tracking cookies.
Your rights
You can ask what we hold about you and have it corrected or erased, ask us to limit how we use it, object to that use, or ask for a machine-readable copy. Send the request to the desk. Proof of identity may be needed first, and the reply will come inside the legal deadline. These rights apply to the extent the applicable law gives you them. If you are unhappy with our answer, you can complain to the data-protection authority of the country where you live or work.
Children
The site is written for adults working in or around professional practices and is not directed at children.
Changes
When this notice changes, the Published date at the top of the page changes too.
